Letter: January 18, 2013

Dear Brethren and co-workers in Christ:

It has been a very busy week.  We have been answering emails, updating web information, creating and uploading YouTube videos, putting together services, and considering various ways to try to fulfill Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20.

Since my last letter to you, I was interviewed by a Belgium-based reporter for one of the world’s most respected newspapers.  Basically, the reporter asked me a variety of questions about the Continuing Church of God, Herman Von Rompuy, the Antichrist, and the Beast of biblical prophecy.  If he publishes the interview (and he may not based upon what he said, he told me he was unsure), it would likely be sometime next month.

Also, I received a telephone call for a radio interview on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, and was on the radio for nearly one hour then.  The focus of what I had to say was the Habakkuk warning (see COGwriter post Habakkuk: His message is for us now), which is a warning that a group I once was part of has been overly hesitant (in my view) to proclaim.  But as a result of that interview, a huge number have now heard it.

There also are two radio interviews scheduled for next week, the first one is to be on Monday, the show is titled Poppoff with Mary Jane,  and is to be on 950 am KAHI, Sacramento, California.  And the second one is for Wednesday on the Nutri-Medical Report (Genesis Network).  Both of the interviews next week are likely to revolve about items in the second edition of my book Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States.

Although we tried a third camera to tape the last Sabbath sermon, it (unbeknownst to us) stopped recording after about one hour and twelve minutes, so it did not tape my conclusion (which took another two or so minutes).  So, please understand when the sermon ends a little abruptly.  Those who would like may also wish to read the related article at COGwriter.com titled How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God.

Now, this week, we just got some new audio-visual equipment which we have not tried to use yet.  This should help improve the audio and visual quality of the sermons and the BibleNewsProphecy channel videos.  We hope to try it live tomorrow, and if it goes well, that will be the sermon we should upload for many of you to watch on January 26, 2013. As mentioned last week, we were able to add the 1974 Bible Hymnal of the old Worldwide Church of God to the ccog.org website, along with choral music for many of the songs.  The choral music is in MP3 format and plays with MP3 players.  If you are unable to play the music files, you need a music player that plays *.mp3 files. VLC is a free audio player for PC, Mac, and other operating systems and you can download that and hopefully be able to play music to accompany the songs.

So, here is my suggested format for Sabbath services for January 19, 2013:

• 2-3 hymns (we are using the 1974 Bible Hymnal from the old WCG)
• Opening prayer by an appropriate male if present).
• Sermonette (short 8-15 minute subject) or Bible New Prophecy YouTube video.  The latest posted one is titled Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?
• Announcements (which probably will be this Letter to the Brethren) and one hymn.
• Sermon (which for most will be a recorded one), which for nearly all of you will be How to determine if someone is a true prophet of God.
• Final hymn.
• Closing prayer by an appropriate male (if available).

So, for your part, again try to see if this can work for you.  And do not get discouraged if you run into some technical glitches at first (also do not be discouraged by some comments that some will likely make about the sermon).  We are trying to work through the technical issues on our end and believe that we should be able to have weekly online services on a fairly regular basis–so this is our second week in a row.  We also are looking into the possibility of producing DVDs for those without internet access, but this will likely take some time.

Working to Fulfill Matthew 24:14

Brethren, please continue to pray the God will grant all of us, including me, wisdom (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2; James 1:5), that He will provide more laborers for the harvest (Matthew 9:37), that we in the Continuing Church of God will go through the doors that He opens (Revelation 3:7-9), that we will love one another (John 13:34-35), and be the type of witnesses He wants us to be (Matthew 5:15; 24:14).

Based upon statistics on the internet and radio estimates I have received, it appears we in the Continuing Church of God seem to be reaching more people with Christ’s gospel of the Kingdom on a per member basis than any other COG group.

Since writing my book Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States, it has been my plan to update it.  Well, the second edition was just approved by Amazon Kindle last night and is now available.  However, Amazon Kindle will allow me to give it away for free for five days beginning Sunday, January 20, 2013.  So, starting Sunday, if you go to Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States you can get the book for free.  Since the book has the same title as the earlier edition, make sure that you are on the version that has a date of Jan 16, 2013.  Anyway, this electronic version is available for free for five days and you do not need an actual Kindle device to read it.
